Life divides

Into

Before and After

And standing on the After side

Broken

Unhinged

Forever Changed

The After You hardly recognizes the Before You

Except to wonder at

Her innocence

To yearn for

Her naivete

To scream a warning

That goes unheard

As Before You

Blithely skips along

That blinding curve

On the road of destiny
