some with damaged legs, no longer able to hunt
or even make tools.
Yet these broad-browed ones, barrel chested, lion-maned β
they seem to care for their decrepit elders β parents
of their parentsβ parents β as if there is something
to be revered about lasting so long, beyond thirty cycles,
beyond forty, when the hair begins to fall and
the face becomes withered and gray.
They adorn themselves in crude ornaments, the likes of which
pale in comparison to ours β their hβ¦
