I think that technology has really changed the movie experience. Back then, going out to a movie was a whole event in itself and because there were fewer distractions (e.g., cell phones, etc.) you tended to remain fully engaged in the movie. Now, we are in control and can watch, pause, rewind, stream, download, etc. any content on demand. And we multitask all the time. Most people probably do not sit through a whole movie without checking their phones. It really has qualitatively changed the experience. For better or worse? Hmmmm . . . that’s a tough question!
