Indelible Ink

Photo by Amauri Mejía on Unsplash

The dark stain of the past

indelible ink, not likely to be forgotten

or forgiven

or overshadowed by the light

of present circumstance,

The weight of that past

its memories

its sharp edges

seldom escapes notice

a fact

of which we are continually reminded
