Over the Edge

Over the edge

I step tentatively

on the unknown

terrain of my own mind.

And the dragons there

lift their slumbering heads

and glare with their yellow eyes.

Their breath scalds

my frail sanity.

Their talons

scar my soul.

As I dangle between

their crushing jaws

and the abyss below.
